Summer Uniform

We took these pics while we were in Oregon at the coast. Admittedly you guys, I was nervous about the beach-wear situation. I knew I wouldn’t be strutting around in a swimsuit, what with the postpartum bod situation. But I also didn’t want the bod to deter me from wearing something cute and functional to the beach either, know what I mean? Sure, I could have thrown on a pair of husband’s basketball shorts and an oversized tank (which I may or may not have been tempted to do), but no one should really ever be seen in public like that, amiright? Then I came across this beauty: the cutest dress that would work for the beach and for the activities afterward. Huzzah! It was only natch that the ‘to-the-rescue’ clothing article was a dress. Dresses are my summer uniform these days. They’re light, easy, chic and summer-ready. Winning. The next step was finding a beachy type of bag that would still hold all our junk. We’ve got quite the haul these days with little Jack in the picture (good thing he’s adorable). This oversized beach tote from Old Navy was perrrrrrrf. Beachy, but huge. Translation: capable of holding our mountains of stuff (and some pretty flowers for these pics!). Only thing left to do was grab my trusty jean jacket, a hat and some sunnies and we were beeeeeach ready! Great thing was that this outfit transitioned perfectly to lunch right afterward. Woot!
