We’re having a BOY!
Husband and I had our gender-reveal appointment on Friday and found out that the little nugget growing in my belly is a baby BOY! A BOY! The truth you guys? I was shocked. I thought for sure we were having a girl. So much for my motherly intuition, eh? Admittedly, I had a bias because my mother-in-law (who had three boys and no girls) was dying for a baby girl. BUT, apparently the Big Guy Upstairs had other plans and a baby boy it is! He made sure we knew it too – he was not shy at all about showing off his manhood during our appointment. He was making a statement! Chase was proud.
The truth is we couldn’t be happier. I think husband was secretly hoping for a boy all along, and I just wanted a healthy baby more than anything. Momma-in-law is still as excited as can be to be having her first grandchild, and everyone on my side of the family couldn’t have cared less what gender we were having – they’re just stoked that we finally jumped on the ‘havin’ babies’ bandwagon. So all is well over here! Don’t worry that I’ve already gone crasssssy pinning nursery ideas and baby boy clothes. And yes – we went out over the weekend and picked up an ensemble for our little man. Menswear Monday will now be featuring TWO Willardson boys instead of just one. Pretty appropriate if you ask me. Aaaaaand one last thing – I think he might be a soccer player some day. He’s been kicking the crap outta me lately! I love it. All of it. It’s all becoming so real now. What an adventure we’re about to embark on. Am I scared? Mmmmmmyeah. Is it daunting? Overwhelming? Totally! But more than anything, I just feel so grateful that we have the opportunity to start a family, and that I’m starting it with my favorite human in all the land. Gratitude – that’s what I feel most of all.
K, but who would I be if I didn’t pull together a baby boy wish list – let’s be serious? I’m a Pregnant Priscilla and a Coveting Cathy with a baby boy on the way whose gotta be looking so fresh and so clean (clean).
