As promised in this post, I am back to tell you all about my experience using Clarins Double Serum for 30 days. Hopefully you all had a chance to enter the 30 Days of Beautiful Sweepstakes!
The state of my skin Before using Clarins Double Serum
-Fine lines and wrinkles swim through my gene pool. That’s just the fact of the matter. We’re talking the 11’s in between my eyebrows (furrowed brow wrinkles – worst evs), the lines running horizontally across my forehead, and crows feet by my eyes. And yeah – I’m still in my 20’s. Awesome.
-Propensity for dryness. If my skin is going to pick between being oily or dry, it will pick dry every time.
-Confession: I’ve never been great with my skin care regimen. Mostly at night I’m a lazy turd and I’m lucky if I brush my teeth and run a Clearasil pad across my face before hitting the sack – especially now that there’s a baby on board. That might have something to do with all this. Eh?
The state of my skin After using Clarins Double Serum
-Well, it would be a magical dream if using the Double Serum for 30 days completely erased all my fine lines and wrinkles. While that didn’t exactly happen, here’s what I DID notice…
-My skin looked way more hydrated. Bye bye dry, creepy, parched face.
-It helped my skin look less dull. Using the serum added a dewy freshness to my face. Score.
-I loved how the serum felt on my face. It wasn’t heavy or greasy, which was important to me. No one likes to feel like they have a pan of cooking grease slathered on their face, amiright? (A pan of cooking grease? Mmmmmmk? That’s the best I could come up with guys. Work with me here.)
Ways my outlook on Beauty changed during the sweepstakes:
Honestly you guys? This is my outlook on beauty right now:
It’s all wrapped up in that little baby boy right there. As far as conventional beauty is concerned – well, I now have a belly covered in stretch marks, 30 pounds of baby weight to lose, permanent dark circles under my eyes, and about as much will to put on a killer outfit and a full face of makeup as a gymnast has to go play NBA basketball. Yeah. It’s about as raw and real and messy as it can get around here, and honestly nothing in my life feels normal right now. Everything (or most things at least) that don’t have to do with the baby have temporarily fallen to the wayside, this blog included (you’ve probably noticed). But ya know what? I’m kind of ok with that. The truth is, I’d rather be spending all day snuggling and hangin with my tiny, floppy, sweet little baby and soaking him in, even if it does mean that a million things never get crossed off my to do list. My hunch is that when I look back on this time, I won’t wish I had gotten a few more blog posts up, or responded to all of my emails more promptly, or worn better outfits. I bet I’ll wish I could go back, even just for a moment, and re-live this phase of my life and of my baby’s life because it really went by just as fast as everyone said it would. So instead of lamenting about my unattended to do list, I am embracing it. And THAT to me is beautiful. HE is beautiful.
Have a Thriller Thursday!
