Sprout by HP

So – what’s cooler than a really cool computer? An even cooler computer – that’s what. And that cooler computer is the Sprout by HP. I had the opportunity to team up with HP to try out the Sprout – their newest desk top designed specifically for creatives. You guys – this thing is craaaaay. Straight cray I tell you! There are a ridiculous number of unique features, some of the standouts being the dual screen (one HD touchscreen and one interactive touch mat), a projector which allows you to scan stuff and capture hi-res 3D images, and my personal favorite: the Creativity Station – which is basically like a touchscreen version of a mini photoshop. Are you peeing your pants yet? You should be.

I’ve been trying out the Sprout for several different blog projects. The one I’m most excited about is a coffee table book I’m creating which will document in pictures the first year of my sweet little Jack’s life. The top image in this post is one of the pages I’ve put together so far. Needs a decent amount of tweaking still, but are you catching the vision? I’m so excited about this project you guys. Not only has it been a great way for me to play with the Sprout and figure out what it can do – the end product will be something I’ll absolutely treasure. I also used the Sprout to create the collage of Valentine’s Day gift ideas for your Man from this post. The biggest difference has been how much easier and time efficient it has been to pull these collages together. I’m resizing and rotating and relocating images with my fingers. It feels like magic. In short, there is one final verdict I have unequivocally come to: the Sprout truly aids the creative process in an unprecedented way – unlike any other machine or tool I’ve used.
