Um, did you all just puke in your mouth a little because I made myself the Style Crush for this week? Yep. Me too.

But here’s the honest truth guys:

Turns out I didn’t exactly have anyone lined up to be Style Crush this week, and it just so happened that *I* was available, and after reviewing my other options (which were zero), I concluded that picking myself was the easiest (and only) choice. Also I realized that *I* have never even answered the questions that I always ask our Style Crushes here on the blog before. And while I hope I’d never be so pretentious as to think that anyone actually cared to know my answers to any of those questions, turns out we’re back to that ‘we don’t have a choice here’ thing people. So, sorry: you’re gettin’ ME today! And I will warn you: my ADD medicine musta worn off by the time I wrote this (as in, right now) cuz I am REALLY ON ONE. No holding back. And waaaaaaaaaaaay too much writing.  Read at your own risk.

(p.s… if I ever DO start acting like a pretentious moron who thinks she’s the Bee’s knees, will you please cyber-smack me in the face and tell me to get over myself?  Thank you. Arrogant people suck.)

How I describe my style:

Ya know, I honestly have a tough time with this one.  I think YOU all would be able to answer this better than I can.  I want to say that my style leans toward ‘classic’ more than anything? But I’m attracted and drawn to so many different styles that I think I have a hard time pinpointing what my own is. Truth be told, I like the idea of giving yourself the liberty to try it all, if that’s what you wanna do.  Who said we have to have ‘a style‘ anyway? Right? Right guys? RIGHT?! Bueller? Bueller?

Top 3-4 places you shop most often:

If you’ve visited this blog more than once then you probs already know: I.LOVE.THRIFT.STORES.  Mostly because I’m a cheap skate who gets high off of a good bargain buy. Sorry I said ‘gets high’. But I can honestly say that most of my fave pieces from my closet and those I get complimented on the most are from second-hand stores. So God bless em’. Other places I frequent often: H&M and Forever 21 (duh.). And if money weren’t a thang? J.Crew, Anthropologie, and Madewell, all the way baby. Someday. Someday. (husband, are you reading this? start makin’ that monay honay! it’s partly why i married you. that’s a joke. i’d love you if you were the brokest man in the universe. maybe slightly less, but only slightly. that’s a joke too. you didn’t know you married such a hilarious lady did ya? that’s a joke too. kind of. i AM funny though, just so ya know. Ok husband? Ok?)

Where I go for fashion inspiration:

PINTEREST! People, this ain’t no lie: Pinterest is sort of what awakened the fashion beast that is now thriving within me, be that for good or for bad. I’ve always loved clothes and style and all that jazz, but Pinterest put it all at my stubby-chipped-nail-polish finger tips… much to my cutie husband’s chagrin, considering that in my initial weeks following Pinterest discovery, I was insufferable – I spent HOURS on the thing.  Hours peeps. Yeah, i can be creepy like that. You can follow me on Pinterest HERE…if…you…want…to…that is.

K anywho, I also love other style blogs for fashion inspiration.  There are SO many great fashion blogs out there.  SO.MANY. And let’s not kid ourselves – this one is at the bottom of the barrel in comparison to most of those, but who cares – it’s all for fun and to tame my ADD (no, seriously), and that’s the best part about cyber space – anyone and everyone can have a place in it.  It don’t matta who ya are or if your blog is still mostly lame!  I’d tell you what my fave fashion blogs are but I honestly wouldn’t even know where to begin cuz i like so many of them for different reasons.  If I HAD to narrow it down though (this is impossible right now): Kendi Everyday (killer style, plus she seems super down to earth, also she’s hilarious and hilarious always wins in my book.). Classy Girls Wear Pearls (incredible style although way too pricey for what I’d ever be into, but still nice to admire, plus all her pics are gorge and i sort of halfway believe that it’s all staged and maybe she purchases the clothes, wears them for the pic, rents her hot “friends” to be in the photoshoot with her, returns the clothes, then goes back to her home in the one run-down alley-way shack of an apartment that exists in New England, which is apparently where her enchanting-looking, pictureqsue, ‘i can’t believe someone actually lives like this’ life takes place. the end.), See Jane (killer style. pretty girl. the end.), Awkward Girls (yes, these girls are my personal friends, but i am not even kidding you – I have fenvy like MAD over their style (fenvy = fashion envy. Hillary Eyre, my sissy, gets all the credit for coming up with that one. She’d be real mad if i didn’t mention that. She’s kind of a Hoe like that.  A Hoe that I absolutely adore, but a Hoe none the less.)(Oh also, the Awkward Girls are HILAR.I.OUS. I’d read their blog purely for the entertainment value. It’s just a bonus that I’m also creepishly obsessed with their adorable style. the end.), Hello Fashion (love her style, and this girl makes me want to never eat again. But don’t worry cuz once I’ve forgotten about that five minutes later, I’m back to where I was when i started: grubby little paw in the ‘Pepperidge Farms Montauk Soft Baked Chocolate Chip Cookie’ bag, mowing down 12 of them thangs. K not 12. But three. Two on a good day. Four or five on a bad. I have issues. the end.), this blog about Olivia Palermo’s style, whose blog name I will not say because it contains a very naughty 4-letter word, so if you are like me and try to shield your eyes from such profanities (judge me for saying that – yes i’m an aspiring goodie-tooshoos and i don’t care who knows it. and yes i’ve been known to let a curse word slip out here and there on accident or when i hurt myself, but I’M WORKING ON IT! And no i don’t judge you if you curse like a sailor – i love you long time either way. Scout’s honor. And Yes i’m shutting up now.), then scroll down real real quickly, cuz despite the foul blog title the content is real good: all Olivia P, that ridiculously-well-dressed-it’s-not-fair-Biotch! (ha! kidding! sorry i said biotch. see that was funny though cuz i just stood on a self-righteous soap box for 27 seconds about not cursing, and then i said biotch…which isn’t an actual curse but it implies one. see guys? see? see why that’s funny? k glad we all got that.), and FOR SURE M Loves M  (this girl’s style honestly blows me away. It makes me feel upset a little, cuz really? why am i not better at this? that’s what i think when i see what she puts together. hate her cuz i wanna be her. kidding. kind of.)

What I’d say my ‘Go-To Uniform’ is when I need to get dressed in a flash:

 In the summer: a comfortable skirt + shirt tucked in + interesting pair of sandals. I seriously wear a skirt almost every day of my life in the summer cuz i find them to be the most comfortable and cool… as in not hot… as in it’s nice when i can avoid being a Sweaty-Betty and smelling like an onion farm. Loose comfy skirts help me do that.  I’ll wear something diff when i’m actually trying (as opposed to when I’m hanging out around the house with my hair unwashed and my bod unshowered and my teeth unbrushed…which i’m sorry to admit is OFTEN. I work from home people, alright?!), but if it’s get ready in a flash time? It’s the skirt/shirt combo fo sho!

In the Winter: pair of skinny jeans + over-sized sweater + pair of tall flat boots.

Also: I am obsessed with cardigans. I could honestly wear a cardigan every day of my life in every season of the year and feel great about it. I wear a lot of cardigans when ‘Go To Uniform’ time presents itself.
