Menswear Monday!

And here to answer that question, back by popular demand, is Mr. Scotty Christofferson! Take it away Scotty! 

The holiday season is the season of impressions – first impressions, good impressions, bad impressions and last impressions (if you have too many bad impressions). As a man it’s important to play it cool at the holiday parties, listen more than we speak, and look better than we normally do.

 For a dressy holiday party with friends it’s important to do something bold, and quite frankly, to have an opportunity to wear your beautiful cranberry jacket that you’ve only worn a few times. Show your old friends from college that you’ve still got it, because we all know you do!

And for casual holiday parties it’s still important to show that you know what month it is so wear red or green, plaid or flannel but not too much. Leave your reindeer antler headband and Santa hat at home and wear one article of clothing that screams Christmas and then downplay the rest. We want to try, but not too hard.

And for the dressy parties with people we aren’t as close with, a church service or community event, it’s nice to mix it up with a casual blazer or holiday tie. Especially for those times when a suit is too formal but you still want to wear a jacket and a tie. This makes you look and feel stylish but it’s not so bold that you wonder if others would think it’s too much or over the top.
