Recognize this beauty? If you’re saying ‘duhhhhhhh‘ in your head right now, join the club! Turns out I am just one among thousands who have a surrrrrrrrrrrrious crush on Miss Lilly of fashion blog Simply Me. If you’ve seen her stuff, you KNOW what I’m talkin’ about. If you haven’t, mmmmmmmpretty sure you’re gonna wanna go check out her blog so you’ll understand why Lilly is this week’s
Style Crush!
-How would you describe your style?
I think it’s a mix of classy with a twist, sometimes random, sometimes girly, chic…little bit of, almost, everything.
-Who are your fashion icons?
I don’t think I really have fashion icons. There are celebrities whose style I adore, most of the time, but I wouldn’t say they are my fashion icons.
-Where do you go for fashion inspiration?
Blogs and Pinterest for sure.
-What are the top three places you shop?
H&M, Marhalls, J.Crew
-What’s your ‘Go-To’ outfit for when you need to get ready in a flash?
Skinny jeans, tee, blazer, cute flats and a necklace to complete it all.
-What do you seek to achieve when you dress?
I like to look put together and feel comfortable in whatever I’m wearing. It makes me feel more confident.
-Would you say you have a ‘signature’ style? If so, what are the main elements?
I don’t think I have a signature style. I love to layer, the only great thing about Winter time. Does jeans and tee qualify as “signature style”
-How do you think others can achieve a truly individual/unique style?
Be yourself! Wear what makes you feel good. Don’t dress to please other, only yourself!
-How would you say your style has changed over the last 5 years?
-Why is the way you look/dress important to you?
I dress to impress, not others, but myself, which in turn makes me feel more confident. see #6!
-Do you follow trends? If so, what trends excite you at the moment?
Some trends I’d say. I like to mix trendy pieces with classier pieces. Right now I don’t think there is a trend that really excites me.
-What are some challenges you feel like you face in dressing the way you *want* to dress?
While I’m more daring to try different trends/styles, I don’t like to draw attention to myself. And living in smaller city doesn’t allow me to always dress the way I’d like to. That’s the beauty of big city’s.
-What fashion or styling tips would you give to women who want to improve their sense of style?
Wear what makes you feel good. Just because something is trendy it doesn’t mean you need to follow the trend. I also believe that accessories can make an outfit, just don’t go overboard with them.
-Anything further you’d like to add?
