Let me just apologize right off the bat for the fact that I’m about to make you victims of the most random, melodramatic post of all time. I have things on my mind. You guys, the massive earthquake in Nepal – did you donate to any relief efforts for that? I didn’t, and it’s really, really bugging me. If you have any suggestions for meaningful ways to contribute to that or good places to donate to, will you please share? Please please please. And thank you.
Another thing: I have a blogging friend who some (or lots) of you may know, who recently found out that her husband has stage 4 Melanoma cancer. She is 8 months pregnant with her 5th child. Sigh – can you even imagine? When I read the post on Instagram where she publicly shared her husband’s illness, I wept like a baby. She was describing my very deepest, darkest fear. What I’m getting at though is that there is a way to help this beautiful, sweet family. You can contribute to a fund that will help them pay for their medical bills, if you want to. The fund has been set up through PayPal, and donations can be sent to FRECKLEDFOXFUND@gmail.com. Make sure you select the friends or family option.
Ok, last one: want to hear something funny? I was featured on the LiketoKnow.it Instagram account yesterday. It was this picture. I was reading through some of the comments, and a couple people said something about how manly my arms looked. To quote the comments exactly: “Man or woman’s arms?” and then the other one was “Is this for a man?” Haha! Oh you guys – the things people say on the internets. The funny thing is, I read those comments and felt myself for a minute going down that rabbit hole of ‘OMG – do I have weird man arms? Is that something I should be self conscious of and I just didn’t realize it? How did I not know that I have weird man arms?!!!’ And then I stopped. And I thought to myself ‘Ya know what? No. Not doing it.’ And that’s it. End of story. I just want you to all know that I am consciously making the decision to not worry or be self conscious about my apparently creepy man arms. Haha!
p.s. There are still a handful of hours left to shop the Surprise Sale at Kate Spade, where things are discounted as much as 75% off, AND obvi don’t forget to check out the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale before everything is sold out! You can see my top picks from the sale in this post. Happy Shalalalalopping

Why people find it appropriate to hide behind a computer screen and make awful comments about others is beyond me. That picture is amazing and in NO WAY do you appear to have man arms. Ugh, for all the supportive comments you have the handful of rude people whose insecurities show through in their negative commentary. Keep doing what you’re doing girl! I think you’re fabulous! I was so sorry to hear about Emily’s husband, too. I lost my sister to leukemia in 2010 and I know the struggles she must be going through trying to maintain normalcy in a completely foreign world. Best of luck to her and her family!

First of all congrats on being featured, that’s fantastic! And well deserved. People can be so ignorant on Instagram. It’s ridiculous! Don’t a waste any energy on their made up comments!
I’m sorry to hear about your friend, it’s a very tough situation to go thru. It’s your family, friends and faith that get us thru the tough times. Will keep her and her family in my prayers.

I donated to Heifer International (heifer.org) recently – actually right before the earthquake(s) in Nepal, but I know they are doing extra work there now. You should check them out! My parents have donated to them for years, and I trust their judgment in charities 🙂
Also. Pretty much everyone’s hands/arms look weird when photographed up close like that. I have teeny tiny fingers and wrists but even I have looked at jewelry detail photos and thought “why do my hands look HUGE?!” Don’t even worry about it.
