This post is long overdue. The truth is, I started writing it around January 1, intending for it to be a classic ‘new year’ post in all its cliche glory. But being the Procrastinating Priscilla that I am, I never quite got around to hitting the ‘publish’ button. I figured now was as good a time as any. The truth is guys, I want you to know that I’m grateful. I’m grateful for YOU. You who take the time to stop by this minuscule, inconsequential space on the world wide web. You who make the effort to leave comments and click buttons and be supportive in big and small ways. You who I’m able to share thoughts and feelings with – those of the most shallow and insignificant nature and those that come from somewhere deeper and more meaningful. I’m thankful for you who I know personally and for you who I have yet to know or may never know. I’m thankful for all of you. All of the visits and gestures of support mean so very much to me. They sort of melt this little heart of mine. I want you to know that. I want you to know that I’m so appreciative of the time you spend here.
To that point, I’ve made a resolution for this upcoming year: despite the fact that my life is about to drastically change (I’ve heard new babies cause that), I have made a resolution to try to produce better content on the blog. Less of this whipping things together last minute stuff and more of being responsive to your suggestions and in-tune with what you might find interesting or advantageous.
Which leads me to the questions that I’m dying for your input on:Â
- What type of content would you like to see more of on the blog? What content do you enjoy on other blogs that you’d love to see on GBO as well? What type of content do you not really enjoy all that much?Â
- More beauty/makeup/hair posts? More tutorials? More just straight-up outfit posts? More writing? Less writing? More explanation about quality of products, etc?
- What things do you LOVE and what things annoy the crap out of you about this here blog? Give it to me straight. I can take it.
Please know that if there was ever a time when I’d love and appreciate your comments, it would be now! Thank you so, so much for your input! Your patience will be ever so much appreciated as I learn to balance being a new mommy, still keeping my day job (yikes), and busting out better stuff on the blog. But I am going to do my very best to deliver.
Thank you, thank you, thank you again for your input and for being so darn wonderful.
Have a Fraggle Rock Friday!

Hi Shannon, Well, first and foremost..Congrats on being a Mom soon!
I am about a year with your blog…top 10 in my Fav’s. I first want to say I adore your sense of humor! Keep it coming. One of my favorites is the…”and then this sometime happens”…shots! Keeping it real like all of us out here in blogsphere. I like all the post about your clothing choices. I like hair tutorials as I am kinda what-to-do-with-hair challenged. Not so much into makeup info, except when you find the perfect lipstick! I love accessory info and like seeing how you pair them with outfits..again a challenge for me.
You have such a fun family. I like seeing posts on you vacations with them. I live in Italy now so miss the USA dearly. I pretty much think you have a blog that is about perfect now. no changes needed in my humble opinion! Have a blessed week and God Bless your new little baby!

I love your blog as it is, I love how real and genuine you are, your sense of humour is great, your stories always make my day better, and is just great to come and feel like we are friends and we are having a cup of coffee. Being a mom will change things different but this is your blog and you should write about what you like, I’m a loyal reader so I’ll be here!

I love the outfit posts, but I think adding some makeup and hair posts and tutorials would be great. You always have the best lipstick! I love your hilarious writing and that fact that you keep it real. Keep on keepin’ on!

I have to say that I really love the outfit posts, but I would also like a few more personal ones to go with it.

I have to say that I really love your blog (and your personality) they way it is 🙂 I think it is so refreshing to find a fashion blogger that is so down-to-earth and I really appreciate that you mix affordable (Target, Old Navy) with more high-end pieces! If there was anything I’d like to see more of in the future, it is life with baby and how your fashion/routine change. Congrats again and good luck!

Gurl….
Your blog is sick! I love what you do and it’s amazing and working. Keep doing it! I think adding hair and makeup is too much. I really like the posts to the clothes so that if I want it I can get it! Plus, I love reading what you write. You are so funny. Your woots and woofs make my life! Also, you are gorgeous and the prettiest prego lady ever! Ser! Okay.. that’s just my lil’ opinion from good old Boise, Idaho! Muah!

Honestly, I love your blog and always have. I love your outfit posts, but I think mostly I love your writing style and the way you are so honest. You don’t just show your readers the good which is rare in a fashion blogger. Keep up your amazing writing and keep us in on your journey into motherhood! 🙂

Hi! I agree with the above comments. Your blog is one of my faves, and has a great mix of fashion, and personal stories. When your little one comes, you are going to be one busy mama, so if the blog stays the same as it is now, that’s great!

Shannon! I LOVE this bloggity blog. I love that you are so real and genuine. I love that you aren’t afraid to throw those blooper shots out there! They are my favorite 🙂 I am so excited to see how you evolve with becoming a momma. I wish your baby had come before mine because I am in need of some serious fashion tips with my new little one! Also, I can’t wait to see how you dress that little stud muffin. So excited for you 🙂 Miss you lots!

I agree with everyone else about loving your outfit posts coupled with hilarious life stories and random alliteration. You do a fine job and your posts are a nice length. Maybe you can add a baby outfit section (no need to share pics of the baby if thats not your cup of tea)? I’d also love to see how/if your style changes with a baby affecting how much time you have to get ready. You have great style, which I’m sure translates to other areas, so I’d also love to see pics of your home!

I of course love your blog as it is, but as someone far less adept at fashion than you are, I would love more ideas about where to start! Or how you go about choosing outfits. I love clothes, but some things just don’t occur to me. Maybe more of the why behind the outfits you select? But still, already love what you post. However, as a new mom, I understand how tired you can be and how hard it is to do much more than be a mom, so don’t stress too much about blogging once baby arrives. Congrats!

Shannon, your blog is hilarious and spunky. I love it (as many others have already expressed). Not only are your fashion pieces mixed with high and low price pieces very well, but also you add in posts regarding your family dynamic. Recently it was the made up holiday. LOVED IT! That right there is original, unique, fun, and interesting. Just keep being you. It’s your blog after all. If you try to be something other than your self it will show. My other favorite part of your blog that is worth mentioning is your sign-off. I now do that with my closest friends. It’s challenging to come up with words that rhyme so well like you do. Last, but not least, congrats on your upcoming baby arrival. Can’t wait to see the post on his arrival.

I am new to your blog but I am really digging it. I have been back multiple times this week (that is huge for me). I enjoy seeing the outfits & rating them, keep those coming! I agree with some other comments that I would like you to tell us more about accessories & how you choose them. I am guilty of owning a bunch of jewelry but I only wear my wedding rings. You inspired me however, I saw your bracelet with the black and gold bow & I went out today to find something similar. I for one would like to hear more about thrift shopping. I am a dyed in the wool thrifter & I would like more tips, especially on those hard to find items like uggs. Tutorials are always great! Hair styles especially & super easy ones too please ;0) I don’t own any styling tools (can you say low maintenance?). Just like others said – hair YES! Makeup, not so much. Iam also curious about how to look great while keeping it real simple. Jeans and tee simple. Sometimes I feel guilty for throwing on a tee & I am wondering how to make it great while keeping it casual. Ooh, and while I am on a roll what about some fitness fashion? Like your all time favorite sports bras & leggings (under armor cold weather leggings – could live in them).
Ok that’s enough, lol. Congrats on your baby, can’t wait to see what the future holds for you & your family.
I just thought of more, hee hee. How in the world did you start dressing your man? I would love to do that!

Love reading your blog! Things I would love to see: outfit posts would be amazing if you also talked about the quality of each item (shoes! Comfortable?). I would love to read and see more about what you do for skincare, makeup, hair, fitness, nutrition. Tutorials are great. I already LOVE LOVE LOVE that you answer questions for your readers, b/c not everyone does that and I know all of your readers appreciate it including myself. Another thing that would be great would be if you explained how you took your Instagram pictures because they look amazing!

Love your outfit posts, keep those coming. (I’ve loved your maternity posts, I’m pregnant too! And it’s been fun to get ideas from you, you have looked fabulous pregnant!!) I always love beauty/hair posts…it’s fun to see what products other people use. I love your stories and your weekly woofs and woots. I feel like you do a great job at giving us insight into your daily life, this is something I feel like most fashion bloggers don’t do well.

Workout posts! I want to know what (if anything, no pressure because you’re totally getting a free pregnancy pass) you’re doing while pregnant, or how you plan to get back in shape after! We are workout soul sisters. 🙂

I enjoy getting inspiration from your blog. My only comnent or suggestion would be to include ideas on how to get some amazing clothes and accessories for a reasonable price. Ideas on where to pick up great finds for those on budgets or those that have little families and would like to spend money on things, but just cant bring themselves to doing it because in the back of their mind they know they need to make sure there is money left in the checkbook. 🙂 If you do know any of those tricks, that is!
