Let me just apologize right off the bat for the fact that I’m about to make you victims of the most random, melodramatic post of all time. I have things on my mind. You guys, the massive earthquake in Nepal – did you donate to any relief efforts for that? I didn’t, and it’s really, really bugging me. If you have any suggestions for meaningful ways to contribute to that or good places to donate to, will you please share? Please please please. And thank you.
Another thing: I have a blogging friend who some (or lots) of you may know, who recently found out that her husband has stage 4 Melanoma cancer. She is 8 months pregnant with her 5th child. Sigh – can you even imagine?
SHOP THE SALE HANDBAGS SHOES CLOTHES Yep – it’s that time. The Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale is here people! This has been my strategy for awhile now guys: I keep an ongoing list of things that I want to add to my closet or that I’ve had my eye on. I also keep an ongoing list of ‘investment pieces’ I’m interested in (i.e. nicer handbags, a super classic, well-made pair of heels, etc.). Then, I wait until my favorite retailers who sell things like that are having their huge sales…. i.e. Nordstrom… i.e. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE TIMES… and then that’s when I buy. I basically never, ever buy my nicer items at full price, cuz why would you when you can hold out and then get them for a significant discount? Example: this would be an excellent time to pull the trigger on getting a super classic, nicer…
Ok people – let’s cut to the chase and talk about the only thing that anyone really cares about right now: did you all watch The Bachelorette last night?! Am I a teensy bit embarrassed to admit that I definitely did watch the Bachelorette last night? I tell ya what – I made it through all of my college/early-marital years with no interest in these types of shows and then on a dare (or something) I watched like one episode a few seasons back, and it was all over from there.
