Guys, can we talk about something? And by some-THING I mean some-THINGS? Turns out i may or may not be in the mood to vent my face off. 1-2-3 try not to judge me:
a) i really, really, really LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas. I LUHOVE IT! But lately, this year included, i feel like i don’t do as much throughout the entire month to really take advantage of the season. Know what i mean? And i always intend to. i’ll make plans to do one extraordinarily nice thing for someone every day, or to go into the city more to do Christmasey types of things, or even to just make some extra valiant efforts to strengthen my relationship with the Big Guy upstairs, since that IS the reason for the season, after all. But, a lot of times i feel like what ENDS UP happening is i get busy with other crap, i don’t give myself time to plan or to research or to make plans, and before i know it, Decembs is half way over and i feel sad in my soul – like i haven’t REALLY embraced Christmas how i intended to! And then i’m real real butt hurt and sad when it’s all over. *Sigh* (ummmm, Debbie Downer much?) So the REAL question here is: what have YOU GUYS done to make the Christmas season more meaningful? More special and out of the ordinary? More focused outward (on others) and upward (on God & His son) instead of just inward/same old? HELP A SISTA OUT! Cuz it’s killin me softly. No. Joke.
b) Also, i feel like a real Crappy McCrapperson blogger for not doing a bunch of fancy holiday gift guides, and for not making everything Christmas related. Are you guys mad about that? Sawwy!
c) GBO to the Stripes on Stripes look? Or maybe should i have been a 5/10 leggy, rail thin model before i wore horizontal stripes from head to toe? Mmmmyeah.
d) Husband and I have our two-year anniversary next Tuesday but we’re celebrating over the weekend. So the question is: what the deuce bigelow should we dooooooooo?! We live in this incredible city, and here i am – STUMPED! Not that this is really anything new (womp womp).
Striped top: H&M | Striped skirt: F.21 | Jacket: Thrifted | Boots: Target | Belt: H&M | Tights: H&M | Bag: Thrifted | Leather wrap bracelet: c/o Very Jane | Beaded bracelet: F.21 | Scarf on Purse: Thrifted
Sooooooooo? Are you leaving me with all of your great ideas? I sure hope so! AND I sure hope you entered last week’s GIVEAWAY for these adorable little leggies! It’s not too late!
And don’t forget about THIS! We’d love to meet you! RSVP to ME by this Friday. Woot Woot!
Have a ‘Trim the Tree and help me stop being such a Christmas Rihtard’ Tuesday!
Thanks for reading! Tell your friends! If…you…want…to…that is.

!. You are the cutest. I’m pretty sure you are doing a great job on embracing the Christmas spirit!
2. You look like a 5’10” leggy model in the stripes. Love the look!
3. Look through a city tour guide for ideas. Like in a bookstore or online. Sometimes the touristy things are the things you’ve never done!
Good luck1!

While I L-O-V-E Christmas, it is nice to have something to read on blogs besides what I should wear to my non-existent Christmas party, what to buy everyone I know with the $12 left in my bank account, and all the decorations I am to magically whip from things lying around my house. I swear I’m really not a scrooge! Loving your stripey stripes!
Well thanks for the confirmation Dani! I appreciate it!
I kinda dig the stripes on Stripes. You are a babe. Go and serve others in a small way, don’t make it huge but something you can do. Thinking that way makes all the diff.
You’re so right Carrie. So wise. Thanks for the reminder! Love your face. xoxo
My fav part of the Christmas season so far (other than celebrating Advent at church and the carols we sing!) HAS to be sitting with my boy toy with a bottle of wine, soaking in the Christmas spirit and staring at our glowing Christmas tree.
Anniversary? How about catching a musical or something? Here in Philadelphia we have the Walnut Street Theater that always has something good playing; I’m sure there’s somewhere like that near you!
I love your blog and enjoy your funny, candid commentary. But I did not enjoy that last part about the veteran. You’re filter may not work, but your backspace button does. That was rude and not at all appreciative or honorable towards a veteran who lost those legs fighting for you to write those words freely. Poor taste Shannon.
I’ve literally got an identical skirt and near identical top and have been mulling over whether or not they can be paired together and look cute or not.
Obv, they can.
Obv, out of the two of us, you’re the gutsier one. 🙂
Love your blog, by the way! Such a funny girl. Following on BlogLovin!
